Online dating?

well...it is more than dating now. i met this amazing guy over the internet, and we hit it off that very first night. i mean, it wasnt on a dating site, it was just instant messaging...and now, we are engaged to be married(one of these days)...the only problem? he lives in FLORIDA, and i live in TEXAS...i dont know what to do! i am planning on moving there after i graduate, to attend college and to be with him...but that is still another YEAR away...i just dont know if this really has a chance. i mean, we are so.....perfect, i guess, for each other...we honestly love each other, you know, in the way that even thinking about them, or hearing their name makes you smile and melt sort of way...and when we talk...we talk for hours on end...we talk about anything and everything...about our futures, both separate and joined...about EVERYTHING!!! but i am just unsure what to do until we CAN officially be together...do you have any suggestions?

Well, first of all it's really nice that you found someone that you could connect to to closely and intimately so early in your life... However, I can definitely tell you that in the long run things may not work out the way that you both are currently intending. I'm not saying that it won't! However, you are both still very young and have a lot of growing, maturing, and experiencing to do in your lives. If things do work out, then I'm going to be happily wrong. However, if things don't work out as you're currently intending it's ok. The good thing is that now you know exactly what to expect from the man that you want to fall in love with. You now know the connection that you're looking for, and this young man helped you to find it! Most young adults your age haven't even found that! In fact, it may be 10 years before they truly discover a partner that they can connect with at that level, so you're ahead of the game!





Best advice: Keep in touch with one another, and remain friends no matter what happens... it may lead you to be together in the near future, and towards the life of happiness that you are both currently envisioning!

my mom met this guy online and a week after meeting him they eloped and didn't tell anyone. my mom told me on my birthday. the guy seemed ok, but then soon after they moved into together he started controlling every aspect of her life. he became verbally abusive and CRAZY...they are getting divorced now. so i recommend getting to know the person REALLY well, before getting married to them. if they are in a different state then you will not always be able to see how they act with their friends or their real self. it might all be an act like my moms ex...be careful!!!!!!!
