Online Dating?

Has anyone ever met and sustained a romantic relationship through one of those dating/meet people sites? Is it generally an accepted thing these days or do people think it's weird?

Online Dating?
Perfectly acceptable. Remember, the internet is nothing more than a *venue* for meeting people. Just like any other place where you'd meet someone. Just like anywhere else, though, it's wise to do your homework on any potential mates.

And people you meet anywhere other than the internet can also claim to be something they're not. That's not exclusive to the internet.
Reply:i have yet to meet my lady but yes i have used the sites and they can work
Reply:i met my husband online and we have been married 6 years
Reply:I met my wife on Match.com. I liked that we were able to pick the criteria in a mate we were looking for. We both had a child from previous marriages and were both looking for someone with a child so we could gauge what type of parent they were. We were both looking for someone who didn't drink or smoke too, so it was very easy to weed people out. We just had our first baby together 5 months ago. My wife is the love of my live and I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to have found her. She is an excellent mother to my son who we have full-time and you would never know that my step-daughter and son weren't real siblings. My sister-in-law also found her true love over the internet too. I don't understand why people think you've less likely to be lied to in person than over the net. Just make sure you get a good picture of them and like them for who they are.

A few years ago people thought online dating was weird, but now I find most people are really suprised and encouraged by it.
Reply:it's weird

but some times success
Reply:there are alot of fake and weird people on the online dating, I know personally,, but ask me after Sunday because I have another Date from online, and hoping this one is true, and no it seems to be the normal thing these days with people on the go so much,, I know I cant get around and meet people like I did in my 20's
Reply:The negative aspect to that is that when you are online you are whoever you WANT to be and no necessarily who you really are.. you could be 6'2" and 200 lbs when at home and typing you are really 5'6" and 210 lbs....you could be saying you are an administrator or business owner and really unemployed and an alcoholic.....do you see where I'm going with this....
Reply:Although I did not do this myself, I know of several happily married couples who met each other over an online dating service. Most of them found compatible partners when they specified certain qualities or characteristics they sought in a mate. The more specifics they requested, the more compatible partner was found.
Reply:yes online dating me too i have ask this similar question because it get weird thing for i still have a scetical mind toward it all.

i alway ask this questions how can someone that i did not see (if the pic that he/she send to me is through of him/her) say to me that he/she love me. just imagine that

but sometime it is through if those that happened to are sincered and honest about themself to each other they can truelly meet to love each other
Reply:ONLINE DATING the two words that shiver up my spine every time i hear it online dating is just weird dont ever trust any guy online that likes you he could be a rapist 10 or more years older than you online dating i know i said not to trust any one online but trust me when i say this PLEASE DONT ONLINE DATE they lie about there age you cant even tell if there f or m PLEASE!!!!
Reply:It can happen, but you must BE CAREFUL. Anyone can say anything or send a pic of anyone and you don't know for sure if it's them or not unless you meet. IF you ever go to meet someone you met online, meet them at a mall or some other VERY busy place and don't get in the car with them the first time. Have lunch and set another date. ALSO, my sister used to meet guys she found online and she always let me know where she was going and their screen name and any other info she had just in case she didn't come back.

My brother-in- law met his 2nd wife online.
Reply:IT IS WEIRD AND SICK!!
