Online dating?

Big topic, but does it work? Has it worked for anyone out there? If you meet someone local that you see every now and then and want to ask them out, should you wait until you see them or email them?

I would wait until Isee them, but if it takes too long to run into them, then you should email.

Reply:For me personally, no. I used the classic old-fashioned method. But my brother is in a serious relationship and has had it for over a year with someone that he met through an online dating service.

Reply:I know it sounds horrible, but i met my husband on myspace.. technically he was one of my close friends cousins, but originally we first started talking on myspace.. we met, we dated, we fell in love, three years later we have a baby and are happily married... I believe its totally possible.

Reply:It's like paying for more heartbreak. It doesn't work. You get someone for a little while, but they eventually dump you for something better that they see online. I wish online dating had never been invented.

Reply:Not in my experience. 90% of the guys on there are looking for a quick lay, not a relationship, and a lot of the girls have really low self-esteem and are looking for anything they can get and can become creepy and stalker-ish. I'd stick with actual dating.

Reply:Generally speaking,when we speak of online dating,it means we date a girl who is far away us in space. I think it is the best way to meet people that you would probably not meet in the real life or who you don't have enough courage to date. I am a person who benefited from it. Reply:This worked for me twice. They weren't long relationships...i think i had some bad luck...but it is possible. If you are meeting this person in public...email or in public works.
Reply:I've tried both Yahoo! Personals and E-Harmony. I liked Yahoo! best, and had good luck. I am still with the girl I met there and it's been 4 months. Just be picky - it's worth it!
