What does it mean when someone says they are just looking for friends? Does that mean encounters, going out ?

"Just looking for friends"
From a woman means "I am not a one night stand sexual partner and I want to get to know you."
From a man means " I am not committing to you or anyone but I am available if you want to hook up."

Reply:I wouldnt give much weight to what people say on their online profiles- I was on a well known online dating site and I found that you cant really trust what they write- "Friends" could really stand for a "fling" or just an option the person decided to fill in just for the heck of it and they are truly looking for a relationship. Although, I will tell you no one going on an online dating site is truly looking for a "friend."
