I've had some good experiences with guys from match.com and years ago from udate.com.
You'll find decent folks, to odd ones, to ones just out for sex (just like offline). Remember, the folks on the 'net exist in the 'real' world also. Every website that isn't a specialty site, represents a microcosm of folks that you'd run into in your daily life, at some point or another, offline.
